Ethiopian Airlines has partnered with Loyyal, a blockchain-based loyalty rewards firm, to enhance its customer loyalty program, ShebaMiles. This collaboration allows ShebaMiles members to earn rewards daily, fostering greater engagement and loyalty.
As part of the partnership, Loyyal will provide its blockchain infrastructure to manage Ethiopian Airlines’ rewards system. The partnership also involves Finfare Connect, which will integrate its payment-linked incentives solution with Loyyal’s technology, enhancing the overall loyalty offering.
Ashish Kumar Singh, CEO of Loyyal, highlighted the benefit for ShebaMiles members in earning rewards through everyday transactions, which increases customer engagement. Brad Blake, Chief Growth Officer at Finfare, mentioned that the partnership would generate additional sales for partner brands while offering more personalized experiences for customers.
Ethiopian Airlines will use smart contracts to streamline and automate loyalty deals, collaborating with well-known brands like Nike and Marks & Spencer. Rahel Assefa, Group VP of Marketing at Ethiopian Airlines, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, noting that it adds significant value to the mile-earning experiences of loyal customers through everyday purchases from various leisure and lifestyle brands.
